New State!

We just arrived in NORTHERN TERRITORY after 6 months in WA!!!

It was not easy to leave Broome after 2 months… Nico didn’t want to stop working and we met a lot of cool people, it was really a ‘backpacker’s community’! We all help each others with tips to find jobs, bbie recipies, and of course aperitifs every evening!

We really hope we’ll see some back in Europe.
Big kisses to Andy, Charlotte and Kat. We miss you guys!

-The beach from the secret bush spot – (Thanks Romain and Marco for sharing the place ;) ) -

Last week, before to leave Broome, we painted our van! Thanks to all the team for helping us to sand, tape and paint!!

Initial plan was to have the car painted by one of Nico’s bakery colleagues (who is a car painter by trade), but the day agreed, no news from him all day... we guess he was too hangover after a night out the day before. Fortunately, Nico  Couette (a backpacker from Town Beach team) used to paint boats before and offer to do it for us: OURAH

We bought a spray gun. Spent 2 hours with 5 people (merci Romain, Simon and Imran) to tape the van for protecting the windows, lights… and Nico Couette arrived to paint the van. It was already almost sunset and he even finished in the dark, but he did a really good job!

After this done, we started our farewell party… games, music, food, drinks... and at 1am, someone told us: I think the sprinkler is on and on your van. Oh, no, the fresh paint!
We quickly moved the van (as quickly as possible as we needed to ask others cars to move first...) and check the damages: relief, nothing, the paint was already dry!

A good sleep; full of petrol, last good bye and on the road again

Next stop is Kunnunura

- Baobabs, on the road to Kunnunura -

- Molly springs, on the road, nice spot indicated by Helen's former boss at Taxis broome - Thanks Saleigh! -

Next stop is Kunnunura where we joined Max and Mike, friends we met in Geraldton and with whom we did the road from Exmouth to Broome.  They left Broome one month ago and now they are working for one month in Kunnunura in a farm doing wooding (debroussaillage).
We stayed 2 nights in their Caravan Park, hot shower, kitchen, swimming pool, it was luxury!

- Sunset from the belvedere in Kunnunura -

- Hiking in Mirima National Park -

Last morning in the camping, Nico baked crepes; Yummy!

Back on the road direction Katherine, we crossed the border to Northern Territory

It’s so hot in the car... we stopped for a lunch break and decided to take one hour break to watch the end of a movie (Batman the Dark Knoght rises) but we didn’t realized the movie lasts 3 hours and it was already almost sunset at the end of it...

We took the road anyway but not for long because the night, kangaroos love to jump on the highway as cows… we stopped in a car park to sleep before taking the road again.

Now, it's 1pm, we just arrived in Katherine, and we will go swimming in the hot springs!

On vous embrasse fort!
